The Barry’s Undergraduate Summer Scholar Program is designed to immerse graduate students in the world of global boutique fitness. Our program offers a hands-on experience within a variety of departments to provide students with valuable skills they can use throughout their careers.

The Student Scholars are given meaningful work and work on projects that enable Barry’s to achieve its vision of transforming lives worldwide. While participating in the Undergraduate Scholar Program, students will have the opportunity to work alongside our HQ employees to gain a deep understanding of our business and will also have exposure to the senior-most executives in the Company.

As a Barry’s Student Scholar, you represent the Barry’s brand within the studio and throughout the fitness community. We are looking for hard working, determined, and self-motivated candidates with solid communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. We seek candidates who act professionally and have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn how Barry’s retail network operates and what retail management is through a strategic and operational lens
  • Understand how to measure the performance of a retail network and develop improvement plans
  • Strengthen analytical skills
  • Learn how a database is built
  • Middleware Data Entry
    • Initial SKU creation
    • SKU creation manually or via mass SKU upload file
    • Monitoring SKUs synced over correctly to SAND and MarianaTek
    • Updating costs in middleware once Cost Log is finalized
    • Adding product descriptions for clothing
    • Changing SKUs from discountable to non-discountable during sale times
  • Assist with Sample/Shoot Management
    • Keep eye on sample tracking to make sure everythings on time - communicate any delays
    • Check and approve style sheet with creative  before sending
    • Prep, tag and pick up/drop off samples to Space and Light studio
    • Send AW files to Creative if she’s missing anything and make sure AW is placed in the right spot along with any color correction feedback 
    • Check final assets
  • Assist in conducting in-depth sales performance analysis to identify business opportunities by market, studio, and product category
  • Work closely with Retail team to build and consolidate action plans to drive performance within the studios

Our Student Associates are paid at a competitive hourly rate. Barry’s does not provide housing.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in Excel, Vlookup, and pivot tables
  • Good at technology, communication, 
  • Attention to detail
  • Adapting to a fast pace work environment
  • Passionate about retail / pursuing fashion degree
  • Must be available to work at our corporate HQ in Los Angeles, CA

Barry’s is the Best Workout in the WorldTM®. Founded in West Hollywood in 1998, it’s the original strength and cardio interval fitness experience that provides an immersive, high-intensity, one-hour workout that’s as effective as it is fun. Our fitness classes alternate between working out with weights and running on a treadmill. Each day focuses on a different muscle group in order to achieve real results and to prevent injuries. Our program is designed to tone muscle and maximize fat loss, while spiking the metabolism for up to 48 hours following the class.

Please be aware that smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of Barry’s studios and corporate offices.

The hourly rate for this position is $20, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Subject to your meeting the requirements for eligibility and participation under each program, you will be eligible to participate in Barry’s comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; short-term and long-term disability insurance, and; life and AD&D insurance
