The Senior Manager, Instructor Recruitment plays a dynamic and hands-on role supporting full cycle recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for the Barry’s instructor population. This role functions as a partner to the Sr. Director, Instructor Recruitment to meet hiring requirements. It is the responsibility of the Sr Manager, Instructor Recruitment to deliver the recruitment function with a focus on developing and executing a best in class hiring experience for the instructor population. The Senior Manager, Instructor Recruitment works to help infuse Barry’s culture with aspects necessary to ensure successful recruitment, placement, and retention of talent within the company measured through standardized processes and delivering upon KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

Instructor Recruitment 

  • Support the instructor recruitment function including recruitment workflow, sourcing strategies, and candidate pipeline development including scheduling and overseeing the open call and Instructor audition process across all regions in partnership with DOITs
  • Ensure effective and consistent instructor hiring practices across the company
  • Provide support in facilitating all training and education efforts related to hiring and interviewing instructors for MTLs and establish an appropriate process for MTLs to submit recruits on a regular cadence
  • Partner with People & Culture to ensure instructor recruitment is compliant and aligned with company-wide hiring practices
  • Operate with a high level of discretion, using independent judgment and engagement with exposure to all levels of the instructor organization
  • Support a diverse and inclusive culture and workforce through active leadership
  • Execute innovative instructor recruitment strategies, programs, and campaigns to meet the current and future demand for talent, with an emphasis on driving Barry’s Brand
  • Assist in Identifying new instructors with the skills and brand knowledge needed to be great at Barry’s by taking classes from Instructors outside of Barry’s in all regions
  • Build relationships and establish credibility with leaders and stakeholders in the instructor hiring process
  • Build and maintain a close relationship with People & Culture partners
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business and workforce needs and challenges
  • Monitor and anticipate market trends and predict their effects on instructor talent acquisition
  • Proactively review best practices and present recommendations to People & Culture and Talent leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in instructor talent acquisition-related matters
  • Serve as a point of contact for potentially interested Barry’s Instructors, maintaining robust knowledge of the Instructor Career Path
  • Travel to existing and new Barry’s locations to assess instructor staffing needs and recruit new talent
  • Analyze market-specific demographics to source talent who reflect the diversity of the specific community, while maintaining the integrity of the Barry’s brand
  • Ensure that the composition of our Talent teams reflects our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging

New Studio Openings 

  • Assist with the scouting and onboarding of instructors for new studios and regions, traveling when needed

Requirements

  • Availability for full-time work with a flexible schedule
  • Group Fitness Certification
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g. ERP, CRM)
  • Personal passion for fitness and/or the Barry’s brand

Barry’s is the Best Workout in the WorldTM®. Founded in West Hollywood in 1998, it’s the original strength and cardio interval fitness experience that provides an immersive, high-intensity, one-hour workout that’s as effective as it is fun. Our fitness classes alternate between working out with weights and running on a treadmill. Each day focuses on a different muscle group in order to achieve real results and to prevent injuries. Our program is designed to tone muscle and maximize fat loss, while spiking the metabolism for up to 48 hours following the class.

Please be aware that smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of Barry’s studios and corporate offices.

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000-$85,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
