As the Vice President of People & Culture, you will develop, lead, and execute the people and talent strategies that enable the successful execution of the organizational business strategy and that support our studio operations across all markets. You must have the ability to drive transformation and performance through our team members in a highly collaborative corporate environment supporting not only the people strategy in the Los Angeles corporate office but across Barry’s growing network of domestic and international corporate-owned and joint-venture studios.
Key Responsibilities
People Strategy
- Lead talent management and acquisition initiatives across field operations, including workforce strategy, succession planning, organizational assessment, total rewards, etc.
- Lead and develop a team that specializes in business partnering, recruitment, learning and development, and employee relations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement organizational and talent initiatives
- Lead the development and implementation of the company’s people strategy and plan
- Management of total rewards program and ensuring equitable offerings in each region, including maintenance of current benefit programs
- Nurture a culture of diversity and inclusion
Business Partnering
- Lead a consultative department that is relied upon by corporate leadership and field employees for HR support, resolution, and counsel
- Connect and provide guidance to the studio operations leadership team by linking people and organization to the studio’s performance
- Act as a trusted advisor, coach, and consultant for the field leaders to improve their leadership capability, team effectiveness, strategic insight, and business performance
- Play an active role on the leadership team, having the credibility and business knowledge to be consulted and to actively contribute to overall business decisions
Talent Acquisition
- Build and deploy workforce planning approaches to develop the strategic workforce plan focused on fueling the internal pipeline with exceptional talent
- Establish innovative candidate sourcing strategies to improve upon the diversity and strength of the talent pipeline
- Lead the talent acquisition agenda, building knowledge and networks of talent, integrating talent with other culture and people processes
Learning and Development
- Develop and lead the learning and development strategy that is aligned with company culture and values
- Create and implement internal development programs that drive engagement, retention, and business results
- Leverage people analytics to measure program adoption, effectiveness, and value for team members
Compliance
- Ensure all activities of the HR function comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
- PHR/SHRM accreditation
- An exceptional developer of talent and HR professional
- A strong leader, cross-functional collaborator and/or influencer
- A coach and mentor to all types of people and personalities
- Passionate about making work better for all of our employees
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations surrounding HR business requirements
- Flexible and excel in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing business environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations
- Ability to travel up to 30% of professional time
- High EQ and a highly effective communicator
- Practical financial acumen skills as related to Human Resources
- Global Human Resources experience a plus
